Dar Tunis Hebdo
Dar Tunis Hebdo is a publishing house that publishes two weekly, Tunis-Hebdo in French and Al Khabar in Arabic. The company with a capital of 1,552,480 TND, is owned and managed by the Ben Youssef family, mainly by M'hamed Ben Mezri Ben Youssef, who founded it in 1984, after having created Tunis-Hebdo in 1973. Dar Tunis Hebdo has its own printing house and its own distribution network. The publishing house had problems during the regime of Bourguiba who suspended Tunis-Hebdo three times and under Ben Ali who made them pay more than 500,000 dinars penalties through the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). After the revolution, Dar Tunis Hebdo filed a complaint to claim the money back. In addition, Dar Tunis Hebdo prints books for the National Center for Education (a public company of the Ministry of Education).
