Tahar Ben Hassine is a former opponent of the Bourguiba regime. After being imprisoned in the 60s, he left Tunisia for France, via Libya. He creates Al Hiwar Ettounsi in 2003 and gives voice to opponents of the Ben Ali regime. After the revolution, he returned to Tunisia and continues his political and media activities, he joins the party Nida Tounes. In 2014, he sells his shares to Asma Fehri, wife of Sami Fehri, who launched the channel Ettounsiya TV. The two TV stations merge.
