Slaheddine El Amri, born in Beja on 23 February 1938 is the founder of Dar Anouar and its newspapers, of which Al Chourouk is the most important. He worked for the Dépêche Tunisienne, participated in the creation of the Tunisian Press Agency (Agence Tunis Afrique Presse) in 1961, and worked for Dar Assabah and Al Bayane before founding his own publishing house in 1981. His wife, Saida El Amri, inherited Dar Anouar when he died in 2002.
